Thread replies by O.P."disappear"

I have an active thread that I'm the O.P. of and I have had great feedback from and dialog with those who are reading the thread. However, I had one detailed reply (of mine) that was initially shown and has now vanished. Not knowing what happened I created a duplicate and the same thing happened. Can someone offer why this is happening? If I've violated some protocol or some rule it would be nice to know so that I can understand and avoid having that happen. Creating a detailed response takes time and not know what happens to those that are missing is truly frustrating.
