Fuel Pressure

Post by jmarkaudio »

Just a quick tip on fuel pressure. Anything you can do to lower fuel pressure and still get sufficient volume in is preferable. I try to look for 4.5 to 6 psi range, making sure the N&S's are large enough to supply the volume. If you try to run too much pressure or too small of a N&S you end up foaming the fuel, and aerated fuel doesn't meter correctly. Think of it like filling a bucket with water. Let the hose fill it open and you will get a few bubbles in the water. Put your finger over the end of the hose you raise the pressure but stir up a lot of bubble. For most of our 4150 builds for gas we use a .128 or .130 Viton N&S. Dominators we use .140 or .150 Viton. Methanol gets a .150 for 4150's, .164-.170 for Dominators.
