I'm not 100% sold on the small engine with a turbo yet. My wife drives a 2017 explorer with the 4 cyl ecoboost and it only averages around 22-24mpg. Granted its a fairly big car but I figured it would do better than that. I think it would do somewhat better if we didn't live about 600' above town but it still wouldn't be great. It is a fun little motor to drive in sport mode though for what it is.

Well my dd is a 2.0TDI and it gets 4,2 l/100 km mileage (56 mpg). On really long distances I get more like 60 mpg. 150 hp Audi A5 sportback

To solve the climate change crisis, human beings must stop using gasoline-powered cars within 14 years, abandon the pursuit of new coal mines, end oil exploration and set about "a total transformation of the energy systems that underpin our economies," according to a bracing new report by the International Energy Agency.

I think they just re-release the same report every 10 years, and change the date on it.
We were supposed to be underwater, 20 years ago.

The International Energy Agency is the Antifa of the UN.

One of the current objectives of the UN is to seek the redistribution of wealth on a global scale.
Wealthy nations get rich because they use hydrocarbon energy to operation machines instead of manual
labor; and the more energy they use, the richer they get. How can poor nations ever catch up?

Simple. Deny access to cheap energy by the wealthy thereby reducing their productivity and wealth creation.

If global climate change is a perceived problem, why not simply crank up the nuclear power plants?
Lots of energy and no smog or rising oceans to threaten vacation beach houses.

It does seem, however, that if one's vintage vehicle is sufficiently old it will be exempt.

That is in the UK. The UK is not part of the EU.

No, but from an American perspective it's all the same issue, especially seeing as how what goes on across the Pond is very often the sort of leftist nonsense our own leftist politicians start salivating to put into law.

I'm a strong proponent of personal freedom and a small government. When comparing to the US politics, most would even consider me very moderate in my views. But over here I'm seen as on the far right....go figure.

In Ontario, Canada emission testing was done away with. And the provincial government told the inspectors to leave the classic car crowd alone.
I don't know of any old car owners complaining in the last few years. All we need is a safety inspection to be licensed. And that is not a problem.

Same out here in the West. It looks as if classic cars will be disregarded in terms of big issue policy moves outside of whacky California.

On this whole climate scenario I note that some of the world's worst figure prominently in supply petroleum to the world, looking at you Saudi Arabia and Russia. Suspect one angle of the campaigns on climate change and electrifying motor fleets is more acutely about geopolitics and countering these malign actors.
