o The U.K. estimates they will need a 50% increase in power plant capacity to handle an all-electric car fleet (and what about big trucks and all the other hydrocarbon-feeders?).Nobody wants nukes in their back yard; they have no Niagara Falls; the wind doesn't always blow nor does the sun always shine; which leaves..??
o Until charge times are cut from hours to a couple of minutes (how many thousands of amps will that be?) long-distance electric power travel will at a horse and buggy average pace.
o How long will it be before they start taxing vehicle charging power like they do fossil fuels? (over 60% of the U.K. fuels' retail price is tax.)

Then there is the ever increasing problem that oil is not fossil fuel. Here are some studies from 1995 to 2012
"COULD it be that many of the world's oil fields are refilling themselves at nearly the same rate they are being drained by an energy-hungry world?" http://www.nytimes.com/1995/09/26/scien ... rally.html
"Deep underwater, and deeper underground, scientists see surprising hints that gas and oil deposits can be replenished, filling up again, sometimes rapidly." http://rense.com/general63/refil.htm
"Depleted oil pools seem to be renewing themselves inexplicably. Is petroleum a renewable resource?" http://rense.com/politics6/replent.htm
"Fossils From Animals And Plants Are Not Necessary For Crude Oil And Natural Gas, Swedish Researchers Find" http://viewzone.com/abioticoilx.html
"Are Oil Wells Recharging Themselves?" http://oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-Gener ... elves.html
Then you take into account the production interruption by sanctions and the 17 year war in the middle east as well as the vast number of new oil fields discovered, $49.00 a barrel oil ($9.00 above the first barrel pumped in 1870) and I think you can come to conclusion that we have more than we know what to do with.

Thankfully the forest love CO2!
"Speed is not a word typically associated with trees; they can take centuries to grow. However, a new study finds evidence that forests in the Eastern United States are growing faster than they have in the past 225 years. The study offers a rare look at how an ecosystem is responding to climate change." https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2 ... 171641.htm

In reading, the major problem with building all these electric cars will be a shortage of cobalt for the magnets, and lithium for the batteries, current production and known reserves are just not enough.

Topic revival? :)

Has anyone seen video of how they drive in India? Especially in their congested cities with shabby roads and no city-planning? Where every motorised verhicle creates a lot of noise?
Imagine all that without the noise. Like watching a silent movie of New York in the '20s.
I think India's non-car-owning population will be decimated overtime when everything turns electric, and mainly because most of the non-verhicle owners (pedestrians) have been killed by morons in their quiet electric cars.

Then again, it will probably take another 35 years before all the ICE-vehicles have been replaced unless gasoline/diesel will be outlawed there.
