Well I tested my build combo on my Desk Top Dyno 5 before I assembled it and 8 1/2 years later ran the car on a chassis dyno and the results were scary close! It gives you an idea if your parts selection will work together for your intended power and RPM range.

I have floppy's of both, "Desk Top Dyno", and, "Dyno 2000", so what replaced them?

My computer can't use them, and I would like to update.

I also have an old copy of, "Drag", and like it! It is a disc so it should still be OK..

If the heads are actually flow bench verified, the results of most of the programs will usually be within the dyno's margin of error.

It would be instructive to input the specs for all of this year's EMC entries and see how closely the raw data corresponds with the scores and where the demon tweaks were hiding.

pdq don't ask me how I managed it cause I don't know but I have dyno 2000 running on windows 10

You should at least upgrade to DD 2003 on Win 10 like I did...

Back about 2001 I think (when Bigjoe won) they let you
download all the competitors dyno files and Superflow
had read only program you could download free read
the actual dyno files just as if you were in front of the
dyno.it's self.
I've never seen them do that after that one year.

Decktop Dyno and al the stuff in all the versions of it are included with dynomation and what runs when you click the Filling/Emptying Model. I've had dynomation for about 10 years and over that time the FE model (decktop dyno) has changed a bit. Way back the I'd run the FE model as a baseline then plug in the the stuff for the fancier wave model and once tuned the wave would always predict more hp then the FE model. But now the FE output is higher than I've found anyway to get the wave model to match. comparing old outputs to new outputs from the wave model they are very similar so its the FE model predictions that hve gone up significantly and now seem to represent perfection vs before when they represented more typical outcomes.... at least for the stuff I model.

Get every program you can and then take the average; "Performance Trends" is good for a single program.

How did you know how many cfms to input for your induction system on desktop to get scary close?
When I have used it I took a known dyno tested combo and reduced the carb cfm to end up with the proper power and torque results. Is that what you do?

I really should upgrade. I had several good programs that won't run today and the computers I was running them on died. However I don't want to upgrade until they get done upgrading. Every time I upgrade it's useless in a few years.

I am not home and so cannot try this on my Windows 10 computer. But on Windows 7 64-bit using a Program call DOS BOX I am able to run quarter jr ver 2 which is copyright 1991.

If you try to run the program from a normal command prompt you get the error message.

This version of C:\dragrace\programs\Quarter\QUARTER.EXE is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need a x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.
