Dry Sump Suction lines

What is the best type hose to use on the suction side of the dry sump pump? How many inches of vacuum does the pump pull? An16 out of the pan, AN10 out of the valley.

I use speedflow 200 series teflon braid.

Are you talking about the scavenging lines on the pan or pump suction line on the tank.

As said 2 AN12 out of pan, 1 AN10 out of valley.

We've never had a problem just using pushlock type hose and fittings. If using stainless braid hose and reusable ends, avoid the o-ringed swivel type ends as we've had them suck air after getting some time on them. The amount of Vacuum pulled all depends on the amount of blow bye. Cast or aluminum block, alcohol or gas?? Steam created is the same/worse than "blow bye" when it comes to evacuating the crankcase.

Personally I use Brown and Miller and they claim you should use their braded stainless especially if more than
20". I do know there are some running their hi - temp non stainless below 15".
Some in Nascar are drawing up to 28" with the oil pump.

Is the push-lok hose designed to be used with hot oil, though? Most of the stuff I see says not to use it for suction hose because it's been known to suck closed.

I'm using the lightweight black braided hose, -12 in size...more flexible and no issues with collapse. Four stage system here, plus vacuum pump.

Dont use push lock on the suction side. It will pull shut

Looking at using Fragola Premium Black Nylon Race Hose suppose to be good to 28in.hg.
