Nice gains , should be worth close to .5 seconds if the chassis is there . What was the size of the "SHOP" headers vs the "DOM" headers ? Dan

Huge gains. In that light chassis he gonna be very impressed I'd say. Excellent work Randy!

I’m guessing it didn’t want 48* timing this time ?

i just re-read this entire thread again, there is some really good information there available to less experienced guys like myself so thanks everyone.
looks like Randy and CGT predictions were correct from what i read on the dyno graph-
540 tq @ 5400
90% (486)tq @ 7000
647 hp @ 7000
great to see someone have a well thought out plan and make it work -well done :D
that little vega going to be a real handful now.

I'll try to answer a few questions.

With his 4150 carb, vacuum, on q16 it's right at 100 HP better. It made 560 on the dyno last time, and the last 2 pulls with his carb, vacuum, and q16 it made 663 and 659 on back to back pulls.

With my big 4500 on q16 with dyno shop 1 3/4 x 1 7/8 x 3.5 collector it made 555 TQ and 676 hp.

It no longer wants 48 deg timing. It has 35 Deg on it now and more hurt it some. Got to thinking on the way home I never tried less than 35*.
I made 3 breakin pulls with the old black plugs before changing to my new ones and it had cleaned up the old plugs some.
So it's a much cleaner running engine.

Cam was changed. Has rx intake lobes and nsc ex lobes now. 267-280-112 with 1.7 intake 1.6 ex rockers.

Dom = dominator carb, shop headerz = Joe's dyno headers. We made most of the pulls with his headers, but went to shop headerz for a few pulls too.

2 dayz on the dyno. one with the 383 and one with my son'z 505 cube big block. Fun, but tired now. LOL

How much vacuum did you run and what power difference did you see? (Apologies if this info is earlier in the thread.)
