Hi Craig,
Had a look at a 202 block recently that had a small compressor type blower and known brand water /meth injection. It run high 12 s in a eh Ute with 5 speed manual transmission. The bores look like pitting and water marks that won't come out, seems like water leakage after engine turned off but he said it only activated on WOT, have you seen that before?, it turned me off using water /meth, also what compression did the lj end up with.
Gday Steve, yes i have seen light staining that looks ugly but does not seem to affect anything, wether that was from a faulty system or not I do not know.
Comp on this is LOW , 7.15 static, although driving it in the off boost area you wouldn't know it was so low, it drives great and doesnt 'feel' laggy at all. CR on the last engine was 7.3 but it had no squish area at all and off boost it was ok but noticably laggy and not so sharp to begin boost. Current cam has softer lash ramps as the old cam, more adv duration I & E , and more .050" duration on the exhaust side. 1 deg less lsa. I went for the longer ramps to control valve train noise. Old cam would be quiet(normal sft sounds) and annoyingly noisey at max temp. Now the valve train noise barley changes, and is much quieter all up. Went with EDM lifters too.
I had a chat to Tony regarding oil pump choice as im not a Holden oil system guru, I was initially going to go std vol, Tony suggested a cut down HV for a little more volume being turbo and edm lifters, I ended up being lazy and fitted a HV pump! I can get the pump out of it easily so may do a cut down HV later, maybe.
Craig.
