I dont plan on the engine to make 1 once of power below 5 grand cam will see to that. 7500 rpm is baby shit rpm for sbc. If your not willing to rev a sbc you wasted all your time regardless of cubic inch, better off with a fat block.

I ran one of the best all around tunnel ram carbs 660s on a 331 back in mid seventies, sig erson roller, used first a mr gasket vertical gate then switched to a hurst vertical gate, 5.13 rear was driven sometimes on the street. Had no traction on street tires in light 63 chevy 2. Damn fun to drive down to shoneys big boy drive in. chevy 2 scary front end at any speed. Had a guy that owned a automatic trans shop narrow a 12 bolt for it. He had a 426 hemi roadster he raced with of course an auto trans.

I worked in a machine shop early 70s before i did 29 years in trucking business. The machine shop had 2 crankshaft grinding machines and an altenator generator shop up front 3500 sq ft. Before i was there it once had two shifts building engines, i did heads and when slow assembled engines. Worked on the 5 mack truck engines i started out with then did cummins, then cats only had 1 detroit 2 cycle. None ever went to a shop i did all the work on them. In san diego now working on cousins ford lehman diesels in his 1977 40 ft marine trader trawler.

Ok F- bird88 its now a decision either 2 450 holley or 2 single inlet vacuum 750s. Lets see if i do the 450s you will blow a head gasket between your neck and head. Lol. damn holley wants $97.00 for the can tops to tie the vacuum cans together. Ill mod the originals before i pay that. But wait you say i cant drill anything. Lol wont be any pcv valve so im really screwed. Lol

A 450 Holley is worthless for anything. I've taken more of those off tunnel ram intakes than I care to remember.

Ya but messing with f-bird could almost be worth it. Lol naw ill buy the 750s if i decide to use tbe duel plane and not my offy cross ram. If i use it will use 650 dps on it. Problem is i live back when i bought a 69 427/435 hp trypower complete for $125.00. Had been off the car so i just bought 3 new holley carb kits total cost for them $15.00. Most stuff now rediculous in price.

It is 2019 now. Get with the program.
Try a new trick. (2x Edelbrock carbs on a 2x4)
Sell you drill collection to help fund it.
These carbs are very affordable too.

In that case, I also suggest a pair of 450 Holleys. Any time you can screw with F-Bird you have to do it.

[/quote. when i was young 69 to 79 had 10 different cars 5 of them bought new. 2 camaros and 4 corvettes in that group. I can't afford my 66 convertible vette back that i bought in 75. But im considering buying another heavy pig 78 vette. So most likely the cross ram offy is going to get used on it. My bottom line is a holley has to have a minimum of down leg boosters and 4 corner idle. So if i can do that in 650 dp i will if not its on to 750 cfm. Ill get a couple 450 holley' s for put out picture here so your head to neck gasket explodes..... Edlelbrock carbs or only for elderly folks scared to drive over 45 mph and i will never be that old.

Heres what we will do put a annular booster in the primary to keep patching this shit up will call it avs 2 sell a few more carbs. Then when sales die down on it again will add annular boosters in the secondary side and call it the avs 3. Lol. You see me with an edlebrock/ afb on my car then you will know, i went senile.

When ford payed holley money to make them a new carb for the 1969 nascar season the annular booster holley we no today as a dominator was born. 2019 the old afb carb gets one, fifty years behind holley in technolgy. Lol
