Very easily....... and you can still get there even if you end up using parts that aren’t optimum. You can virtually bolt together a pump gas 500 hp 500 tq 383 with the parts available today.
Even a cave man can do it.

Seeing that it is a '64, and a roadster,..... it will be a while before the lynch mob gets around to him...
I built two 327s recently:bosco wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 10:07 am I have a nice 1964 Corvette roadster with a stout 383 stroker with old Trick Flow 23 degree heads. It makes about 425 HP and similar torque. I have the original 327/300 motor with 461 heads available. I would like to put the 327 back in with a few upgrades: Comp Cams 350 HP Nostalgia plus cam, L79 Aluminum intake, Bo Laws 650 or 750 Holley and maybe some mild porting on the heads. It has Hooker shorty headers into the sidepipes.
I want the original motor back in the car but without too much drop off in performance. Would the 327 at about 10.5 compression, and with the above mentioned upgrades approach 400 HP and say 375 torque?
The car looks near stock with the exception of 65 sidepipes, American 200 S Wheels. It does have Wilwood 4 wheel discs, and the F41 suspension. It handles and stops far better than original and I am not concerned about making it some 99 point show car, and will never sell it. Just kinda would like to say it has the original 327...BUT I NEED MORE SMOKE.
Thanks for you ideas and opinions
Yeah, oops I saw the nose of the car and instantly channeled my buddy who's been carrying on about a '63 split for 25 years. By the time his possession left, it was too late to edit, lol.
One Sunday we were looking for some nice small journal 327s on Craigslist, to build a 302 for my son, he really likes Z/28s. We ended up with some very nice virgin cores, I couldn't see letting these extra 327 cores go to waste, infact I wasn't going to just store them so we built them. My sons 302 build. https://classracer.com/classforum/showt ... hp?t=70688chevyfreak wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2019 9:06 am All this talk about 327s just made me decide i will have to build another one. . I have one in my SCCA road race 1968 Corvette, well sorta, it is a 4.155 bore x 3.0 crank to make about 326 ci. It turns 8000 plus and hits 180 in the trioval at Daytona and 160 down the back at Sebring.chevyfreak wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2019 9:06 am All this talk about 327s just made me decide i will have to build another one. .
