Vortec intake runners

Post by BOOT »

Are vortec heads a RR raised runner? Bought a set of cheap ebay alum heads and got me thinking, not too familiar with vortecs really.

Made a vid for my channel bout the ebay heads

Well cant really tell completely from your video but what I can see is that the only thing resembling vortec about those is the bolt pattern.

Do yourself a favor and replace the guides now or put K line inserts in those.

Or they won't last a month

One guy said he has 8k on em w/o issue, I'll prob change the engine/combo long before then or blow it up LOL Still I felt it was something worth mentioning to those who want em to last.

That's up to you,, but I can see by the color of them,, they are the bad soft ones. They are way to yellow

Compare the color to a good quality bronze guide.

You have no idea if your screen is reproducing the color as it looks with the naked eye so how can you make that determination so solidly? They could've had the warm filter on for all you know. I'd be wary of making claims like that after judging color over a computer screen personally. You have no guarantee that the color was reproduced accurately at this point.

They are Chinese heads. I've fixed about ten sets exactly like that..I'm not color blind

It was a heads up to the guy because I've got experience fixing those junk guides.

Have you?

I think their point is valid, the camera changes a lot and I think it's fair to also say many china heads have been fixed for issues.

Why would it matter if they had experience? They weren't giving advice on how to repair them. They were talking about the computer not reproducing colors acuurately.

So what does that have to do with whether they've fixed any heads? It doesn't and your question was useless.
