21/32" cup plug. (.656")
Doorman do one in .320" depth, the depth difference is no issue.

While you're in there, toss that flat tappet and stick a hydraulic roller in there.

Yes there are a few different sizes of plug, just have to measure and source.lance flake wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2019 2:20 pmThat should be correct. I was thinking .750 off memory.cjperformance wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2019 4:41 pm 21/32" cup plug. (.656")

We don't have an Advance Auto around here and they don't ship to our location.
We ended up order this
Free shipping so $8.41 delivered. I don't know why the link has a different price.

Beauty , at least you found something. What location are you in?

Re: What To Do Now 331 Ford Stroker
Washington State in the little town of Wenatchee. The funny thing is the local parts shop show that is a discontinued item.
Thanks again.

No probs, hopefully you get this sorted now.
I just looked at Wenatchee on google maps, it looks lime a fairly small and remote place , nice to be away from the big cities. Im south of Adelaide in South Australia, tiny city really but still too busy for my liking!

Well crap, you're just up the road from me...kinda. You couldn't find one of those in Yakima or the Tri-Cities?
Re: What To Do Now 331 Ford Stroker
Not worth the 2 hour drive....we'll see if it shows up today. The good thing is we aren't in a big hurry so whats a day or two?
Re: What To Do Now 331 Ford Stroker
Well, here is the rest of the story...... got the engine all back together and broke it in @ 2200-2500 rpms for 30 min.
About 10 minutes into break in the clatter started up again but we finished it as oil pressure and temp were fine.
Pulled both valve covers and discovered at least two of the rocker arm adj nuts were backed off.
We are replacing all of them with new just to be sure we have our bases covered.
I'm sure now this was the initial problem but live and learn! I'm not to upset by this because the engine is much cleaner inside
and it's cheap insurance to have double checked everything.
Thanks to all that chimed in much appreciated!
