Re rolling crank radii

For the crank grinders here.
Assuming a crank is ground and the radius gets eaten up.
What is the correct procedure for re rolling it?
Is it a grinding process with special narrow stone or a lath turning process with scallop cutter or is it done otherwise?

Crank radius rolling is a compressive process using very high forces through hardened steel roller and as far as I know confined to use by high volume manufacturers. Regrinding radii is part of the reconditioning process and is done with a radius ground on a abrasive wheel. In your case it is likely the journal diameter and the radius will have to be redone. I'd suggest taking it to a crankshaft grinder for his expert opinion.

I don't know of anywhere in the country who re-rolls crankshaft radii.

That is a strengthining method though compression of the metal and once it is compressed in the radii, the journal can be ground to the depth of the initial compression without lessening that strength.
Similar to rolling threads instead of cutting them.
