Re: LS3 Carbed build
Chad do you know how much less this ls weight is than a aluminum head cast block first generation SBC. Thanks in advance Steve
Re: LS3 Carbed build
My goal is to have it back on the dyno in November, although I am currently at the mercy of a couple of suppliers.. along with a little fab work to the oil pickup tube.
Re: LS3 Carbed build
To anyone interested. I'm wrapping up some changes on this LS3 (oiling), and will be back on the dyno hopefully before the first of the year for more testing....fresh vacuum pump and oil pump. I plan on doing some cam position tests with my current cam, trying my timing curve built from last sessions data, doing a cam swap on the dyno along with ICL tests on it, maybe some oil weight testing, and possibly revisit the bigger carb thing, I couldn't really complete the carb testing last time because of lack of main jets to get the bigger carbs tuned up right.
Re: LS3 Carbed build
How did I miss this///a dyno thread my favorite//have you used this dyno before??
Re: LS3 Carbed build
Did you get the intake ground out to fit the spacer for the bigger carb ?

Re: LS3 Carbed build
No, just the open adapter spacer I told you about, matched to the plenum then tapered out to the larger throttle bores. I need to see some evidence of the big carb being better before I get after the manifold too hard.
Re: LS3 Carbed build
Im sorry to ask.....but Ive searched....and somehow overlooked....what the compression, ring pack, and a few details like that were on your build CGT....? Could you write a very brief rundown? Its easy to get lost in 21 pages, lol.
Thankyou sir!!
Thankyou sir!!

There are quite a few details left out im sure, yould just have to read through in your leisure. Some I may have not even thought to post. The heads are offset doweled... just giving you some random details off the top of my head. If you have any specific questions ask away...
My original goal was to see what could be done using as many stock parts as possible....its making good steam(i think) now and im gonna keep trying to find more.

Should I say what I am thinking or does this page speak for itself? viewtopic.php?f=1&t=51466&start=180CGT wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 10:25 pmLS3 .005 over 4.070 x 3.622
