The bet is 200% power for 25% investment... so basically 1300 hp for $6000...

Stock 454 , vs 78/75 turbos, 210 injectors , ms3 ultimate. I am using 781 heads .
Mine is running now but I haven't made in power pulls.
4 digit power I think is reasonable but I am not sure about 1300 to get to the number you are describing .

What fuel are you planning to run? E85? Roller cam?

Thanks
Craig
I am going to use e 85. I have a flex fuel sensor so I can cruise on regular gas if needed.
I have a Mike Jones flat tappet solid cam

For another $6K he coulda got a Helephant and 1000hp in crate.
In 1978, I missed buying a hemi for my Belvedere by a few minutes. It went for $725.

Mopar loyalists are a different breed and will go out of their way to not use "ordinary" hardware.
My brother is one and he is the only S/Pro dragster out there with a methanol EFI 598BBM and a brother that is dumb enough to sponsor him.

I built an early blown 600 hp Hemi for $5500.00 carb to oil pan. But you don't do that by throwing your Visa card at every website in town....

My money is on the Chevy.
It started out as a lot less money... he bought the complete iron head 426 with single 4 bbl for under $12K

add dual quad setup
add new solid lifter cam
add new springs

then the thrust bearing failed...

new crank
machine block to use 440 main bearing with larger thrust surface
new pistons
aluminum heads
Stage V rocker arms
new cam
new springs to match new cam
new pushrods to match new heads
balance
etc
etc
etc
they all start as less money. 8)

You forgot to add the pony tail, missing two front teeth, the wife beater T shirt and sawed off nose picker boots...not sure how much all that costs in mopar dollars?

You are obviously not familiar with the mopar tax, or the hemi tax....

Two EFI setups for $237. One has the EGR hacked off and has an aftermarket 85mm throttle body. I sold the other unmolested one for $100...

In 1974 The 426 my father built ran 6.14 in the 1/8th at 117mph in a 3400 lb full frame 68 Nova. Figure out those stats with no high stall converter.
Ran the Hemi converter that was around 2800. 6.14 gear Cross ram 660 holleys 12.5:1 Isky super leugera .550 solid. Shifted at 9500.

Well.. if a solid flat tappet 426 hemi can make 700+ hp and turn 9500 rpm then my pos chevy has its work cut out for it...
