What 1st Gen. Camaro upper adjustable A-Arms are you guys using?

Post by pdq67 »

I want to install adjustable tubular upper A-Arms on my '67 Camaro and only know about the ones sold by SC&C.

What else is available AND safe to use?

In other words NOT e-bay el-cheapo jobbers unless you are happy to recommend them for installation.

Detroit speed A- arm kit is pricey but nice

Here is a link to a discussion of tubular a arms.

Or, you could do the Gullstrand modification to your Camaro

Rob,

Everybody saying that SC&C has the only 1st Gen. car double adjustable upper A-Arms out there?

I need to pull my upper A-Arms in quite a bit due to my Pro-Motorsports 2-15/16" tall spindle extenders is why I want adjustable uppers.

I also have SHORT cut STIFF coil springs and the Pony-car Bullitt 8" wide rims on my car.

Does HOWE racing make anything like what you want?

"Pro-Motorsports 2-15/16" tall spindle extenders "

Does that accomplish the same thing as the "GULDSTRAND" MOD?

They raise the upper ball joint position 2-15/16" so that the poor 1st Gen. front roll center is raised.

I have four stock forged spindles and really want to section them and weld them together to raise their upper ball joint position about 1.5", but don't know who would weld, then heat treat and x-ray them to make sure they would be safe to use.

Like these?
https://smithracecraft.com/product-cate ... ntrol-arms

You could probably get a longer Howe ball joint.
https://howeracing.com/index.php/store/ ... s.html?p=1

We use the Smith a-arms, the lowers have a coil over mount for the Santhuff shocks with a conical spring to the factory spring bucket.
