It is but the information still applies to current engine operating conditions.

The MAHLE piston handbook suggests a maximum piston crown temperature of 518F,
Piston temperature will increase with rpm and increased BMEP.

Regarding the serviceability of used pistons, skirt ovality and ring groove clearance should be
examined carefully.
