Sounds like you have a good, solid piece going together.
If you can't find what you want now, what about in the future? Pinching pennies for an oddball gasket that may or may not be available down the road isn't the way to go. If you consider the fact that the Cometics can be reused several times, the up-front cost is pretty reasonable.

Thanks Dan6.50camaro wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 8:40 am Speedway Motors has a 4.165 bore .024 steel shim gasket but no steam holes for $9.99 ea. . I have used these on 350'and 383 's with out problems . If you think you could do the holes might be worth the try. Dan
I see it (linked below). If pic is representative, seems these are actually Composite. I think I can add steam holes; maybe a bit smaller than OE.
Dunno if 4.165" will overhang a 4.155" w/ small chamfer lead-in? I think this is certainly worth a try. And they sure are cheap enough.
If it works, my quench should be a fine-as-wine 39. Thanks!

The picture is not correct . I have ordered and used these and they are steel shim . Why they have the wrong pic is beyond me. Dan
