VortecPro: If you make a change to the driveline as you suggested and the cars MPH goes UP did the "flywheel horsepower"go UP?
No, the flywheel hp did not change. The net rwhp changed.
Drag strip MPH to weight Power calcs are ALL net RWHP and uncorrected too.. But they are REAL too.

So, is this to say that a 3650 lbs race weight that traps 108 MPH is making ~360 RWHP? (Based on one of several online calculators I've come across)

I get 355.5 net rwhp. if the true weight is #3650 and you held your foot in it . Again if you don't know the true weight use weight to power Ratio.

True weight. Kept it pinned past the stripe. Repeatable. Uncorrected.
Thanks.

So, here’s what I am hearing and thinking— re-baseline the tune up and get 3-5 clean passes to make sure of current performance. Then should he switch to a T-350 and see how the car performs before messing with the cam or rear gears? If the T-350 creates good improvement, consult with Mike or Chris on a different FT cam for the 215 heads. If all goes well, the final change might be a different rear gears, but I doubt that’s necessary with conversion to T-350. Thoughts? Good approach to changes

So your saying it take's 900 rwhp to run 9.0 151mph @3450lb...................yet my buddy ran 8.9 @152 with 3450lb and it made 920hp on engine dyno...... #-o

Best tool is the "Moroso power speed calculator 89650"

No, you Re saying that .

The net power to weight ratio is 0.2715 on that car, that day .
The net RWHP is 936 hp. (#3450). that car, that day, that track..
uncorrected too.

I would make up or buy a big muther front chin spoiler.
mount it directly under the radiator support. Make it deep as possible and wide enough to hide the front tires too.
Need not be flat.. Now make up a forced air fresh are air box and forward facng hood scoop.. Now re- jet the carb for best mph, as required.. A fraction of the price of a Th350 or a cam. Try some collector extensions and a few carb spacers too.. Re due the ignition timing set up and burnout and stageing method.. What happens now..?

What cam? installed how?
new 1/4 and 1/8 th data...... does it jive?
log track day weather data with time slips data.

Now maybe think about the trans/converter.
log traps engine RPM.. Does it jive with car speed?
Converter efficientcy) %
Front shocks too loose - car front end still rides up high thru the traps after big chin spoiler install.

Is the converter working? (multiplying torque on launch and locking up top end...%) (stator shape and function) etc
true height of the 26* tires....

Make these changes and test.. How is it?
Are ya getting any daylight under the front tires yet?
Its a good sign on this type of car.
