MSD 6T analog box and alky?

Post by Krooser »

So I have a couple of older MSD 6T oval track boxes I've used in oval track cars in the past.

Now my new deal is an alky fueled DLM and I see MSD doesn't seem to think that these older designs will work on todays high compression alky engines.

They seemed to work fine years ago...

I understand technology has come along way since the 90's... but these boxes worked before on 13-1 methanol cars... why not now?

I expect they are just trying to sell you something new. My own first hand experience is MSD don't always tell the whole truth about their products.

I ran one two years ago and didnt miss a lick, a good friend of mine refused to run anything but. He tried the newer stuff a couple times and it would always dump on him

These seem to dead reliable from my experience. MSD is pushing their 7 series for hi-comp/hi-compression oval track stuff. I guess I'll know when I hit the track.

In other news my new Jones cam is on the way after a short wait for a certain cam core... now to get my block and heads back from the machinist.
