Early prostock iron heads.
Guys a friend and i bought some early Cleveland prostock high port heads. They have a stamping of CHE 7529. Does anyone know who or what that stamping would mean. We are assuming che is abbreviation for a business? Thanks.

Quick Google showed cylinder head express and cylinder head exchange. One of which was/is in California for last 35+ years. Could you post pics of those ports and chambers? Would like to see them and what they were going to!

Steve,
You posted a flow sheet. Did you flow them and if so what head? The head you posted a picture of has none of the intake ports ready to flow.

Those wings bolted in there with slot head screws are classic.....very cool!

I wonder what those vanes were worth on the bench......and the dyno.
Somewhat handy with a die grinder.

With the floor veins in that position it was more to deal with fuel management then air flow I would say!

Seems I remember a porting shop called Cylinder Heads America in the early 70's. That is all I remember, no names. Can anyone add anything else? There were also a couple of magazine articles about milling the exhaust ports and putting the plates on in that same time frame.

Cylinder Heads America was out here in Canoga Park. They were primarily known for SBC heads but obviously did others. 'Vanes" were popular add ons to 351C intake ports. These would not be from Dyno or Glidden.

Boy that's massive sheer taking place on the Intake side going from 368 cfm down to 344!

I have two sets. The one set is at Tim Halsteads and the other is here. The first set i have been flowed and thats the flow sheet there. Not sure how i stuck that in there. My set here were made by Paul Jenkins in Daytona. He tells me he was good friends with Dyno don in those days and they worked heads together. The set of pauls used epoxy not vanes. It sounds like roush favoured the vane style? Im not sure.

I worked for Roush in the late 70s Edger was his head porter and the Veins was to reduce turbulence at high lift. If I remember right the four speed cars got them and the Auto cars got the floors filled. I remember that we also used to Post the heads on the front and back to help to reduce blowing a head gasket.
