Throttle response and EFI

Post by SpeierRacingHeads »

I think it's pretty good. The induction worked out well. Has some scat from off idle.

Who's EFI controller are you using?
Any details on the build?

Is this a plenum manifold with throttle body injection?

If it’s a plenum manifold with a throttle body injection, why wouldn’t it be better to use the same number of throttles and injectors in an independent throttle body system with the throttle close to the port and injector spraying into the runner?

The main reason I did this is because I wanted to maintain the Camaro air inlet system.

I can see that the air filter etc would be time consuming to refabricate. I have no objections with a single throttle plenum EFI manifold with port injectors. That’s what I got!

I was more commenting on the EFI university Holley sniper system that has eight throttles but looks like a plenum manifold with throttle body injection.

If you only drive the car at full throttle, obviously most of this stuff is moot. The location of the throttle or throttles doesn’t matter. However, since the thread title was throttle response, I think it’s relevant how the engine cruises at part throttle without surging and then takes off without a bog when floored.

Yes, the EFI University sniper is pretty killer.

I flowed the stock air lid before/after.

Stock form with and without filters like 725cfm

Reworked with and without filters like 1280cfm
