LOL, This "shop truck" will be pretty mundane. Manual drum brakes front and back! Not the easiest rig to bring to a halt. If I want a power hit 'I've got 68 Chevelle with a 434 big block to provide the fix.

very similar cam in my DD 383, Qjet, shorty headers, and 2004r, 3.31 gear
gets 21 mpg hiway, and torque to pull race car on flat trailer,
wouldn't change it for anything, its so pleasant to drive, NOT finicky,

Running a quadrajet adds a lot to the wow factor on a daily driver. Gotta turn that air cleaner lid upside down. I never could master the stock carbs verse Holley. But some can. You will have fun with this project :D

I have a rebuilt completely rebuilt q-jet from a company out of Florida if I remember right. It’s for sale if you’re interested?

Well after a couple months under wraps I'm getting ready to run this engine on a run in stand. Out of curiosity what heat range plug would I want to run. I'm thinking an AC R44T or an R44TS?

Like I was trying to convince VortecPro, if it doesn't have a lil B&M blower under the hood its not a shop truck engine.

Run a hot plug on the test stand. Regardless of engine size, tune, compression, cam, carb, etc, everything I have had on my stand tends to foul plugs. It seems to be about not loading the motor. Also, if the rings/bore is new, there are more than normal amounts of oil in the chamber for a while.

I'll take that advice and pick up a set of R45TS's for the run in. I've got a couple run ins to do this spring so will probably just keep them on the stand.

R46TS if you can find them. This assumes you can keep it cool on the stand.

No 46's in the store I'll check the warehouse tomorrow. No problems with heat on my test stand, I have a good sized radiator and electric fan setup with an external stand alone water pump off of a hot water heat system. Works slick.
