That's a good first step of you're looking for more power.
He may ask for greater detail on your heads. I'll ask here for the masses.
Do you have flow numbers, valve sizes and anything else to add?

I only have the flow numbers from the company. They are 183cc intake runner head with 2.02/1.60 valves. 5 angle valve job. CNC ported.

Seems to me that those heads could support 500 CHP but that would a different pile of supporting parts.
More RPM from a different cam spec. An intake perhaps.
10.3:1 is a decent enough starting point.
I've been researching a possible 355 build with similarly flowing heads and am looking for something a little outside the box.
One or two cam spec programs I've run with similar heads and CR have cranked out something along 283/283 @ .006" on a 108 LSA, 104 ICL. Peak HP RPM should drop in around 6300. Give or take.
Conventional thinking says that spec makes for a more dedicated "racing" engine but as with all things, there's a compromise.
As suggested, gearing and converter will go a long way. Especially if you step away from your current direction and get a little more aggressive.
Just my two cents as this is a subject I'm looking into and have read your thread with interest.

Ages ago I built a very similar .020” over 350, flat tops, zero deck.
Same cam(in a different box), also used 1.6 rockers.
Pro-Action 200cc iron heads, rpm intake, dynoed with 1-3/4 — 1-7/8 x 3 step headers, 750 carb.

Made about 385-390hp as I recall, and with the 200cc heads peaked fairly high for such a mild combo.

Went in a 68 camaro with a 4 speed. It was a pretty fun little street car.
At least it “felt” kinda hot.

For a truck, I think a different cam and heads(than what I used) would probably end up providing more power where you could use it.

More cubes would obviously help.
Somewhat handy with a die grinder.

Here's my healthy 358 (.040 350) I ran this year. Flat top piston .040 5.7 PM rods and a cast crank. Heads are Sportsman II's that are mildly ported, I had a 300-36 dual plane on it with an 850 M/D . 1 3/4" super comps along with a .600 solid roller cam. The car ran 11.30's@118mph on pump gas, switch to the 300-25 and picked up a little but not as much as I though I would. I built this engine back in the late 2000's and it started out in the low 12's and now has picked up quite a bit. Goal was to put it in the 10's N/A this year but ran out of time to test stuff. Next will be a set of ported Vortec heads with MY ported SV. This engine has neve ceased to amaze me, it has even run the best of 10.04@136 on a 200 shot of spray at one time butting a lot BBC's on the trailer.

What RPM do you suppose those engines made peak HP?

I don’t know that I still have the sheets for that particular one I did.......
But I’m thinking it was right around 6000 or so.

I found a sheet from the one I did.......
I was wrong on the header size...... I used 1-5/8 x 3.
The intake was an RPM A/G.

Was that this cam? With 1.6 rockers.
Lunati bare bones flat tappet 224/234 Duration at .050". 112 Degree Lobe Separation Angle. 0.465"/0.488.

what is the exhaust setup? I would use a carb with tuneable accelerator pump in a truck

It would have been either a Melling(22303)or Elgin(E-1015-P) equivalent.....aka, the “white box specials”.
Those cams have been around for probably over 40 years....... sold by numerous outfits.
I did use 1.6 rockers with it.

I probably used one when they were new way back when. Under the Cam Dynamics brand. I have no recollection of the numbers other than it was put in my fuelie headed 400. My guess is that my tech college instructor spec'd it!

I see the 112 LSA. Isn't the trend, application dependant obviously, more towards a tighter separation? Just about any catalogue cam that's directed towards the enthusiast and his 350 puts that angle at 110. And some might suggest that a 108 is better suited.
Just musing more than anything. But I will be seriously shopping for a new spec once the build direction is determined.

I just looked up the specs an the Lunati, and it's a real dog. My solid roller had the same advertised duration with about 260 degrees @.050 and over .600" lift. Most would consider my cam archaic by today's standards.
So much to do, so little time...
