Cartridge roll’s
What brand cartridge rolls are made well like they use to be, as in glued along the whole rap length.
I just got a order of new ones ( and not cheap might I add!) only to find that there only glued up at the end and once that’s gone thru ( like in 30 seconds) the darn thing fly’s apart.
Thanks in advance!

I will look to see where I got the last batch, they last for a long time.mag2555 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 26, 2022 4:54 pm What brand cartridge rolls are made well like they use to be, as in glued along the whole rap length.

Re: Cartridge roll’s
It might be helpful to hear the brand names of the ones that come apart on contact with the job.
Re: Cartridge roll’s
I have just got a few boxes of Merit rolls in 40 and 60grit
Last very well probably the best rolls I have used

Re: Cartridge roll’s
These crappy 80 grit straight roll’s I have are from Cylinder head abrasives, so steer clear!

Re: Cartridge roll’s
I buy the premium brand rolls in both blue and red with great results from cylinder head abrasive. Maybe you got a defective batch? Did you call vendor?

Re: Cartridge roll’s
I will call them later and see what they can do.
I have had bad ones before that just plane ware out way faster then they should, but this defective glue up thing is very much pissing me off, especially since I purchased a quantity of 200 and not just a box of 50.
Thanks for the info!

Re: Cartridge roll’s
I have got crappy ones and decent ones myself, sometimes it does not seem to matter on the brand, one batch is pretty good the next crap. I find that turning down the speed helps them live a lot better. It seems to me that many times they spin so fast that that the roll get hot and the glue melts letting them fly apart.

I only use sanding rolls on my cable driven motor so we are not talking excessive rpm’s

Re: Cartridge roll’s
I use the standard abrasives ones, all the others I've tried either come apart, go 'blunt' & stop cutting or wear out real fast.
The SA ones are pretty good.

Only ones I get to live are Standard Abrasives. All the others blow apart early before being worn out. Includes Merit, Norton, and 3M I have tried
