stepside drag truck
anyone ever hear of a stepside pickup truck getting air under the rear fenders at high speed and causing the truck to loose a little stability in the rear. my buddy is building one that wii go a maximum of about 125 mph and he says he needs to puts lots of louvers in the rear fenders to bleed off the air getting under the fenders that is causing the truck to get a little out of shape at the top end. is this true and is the louvers the solution. thanks Art in NY
Re: stepside drag truck
Is the stepside wheelwell larger than a normal truck box or tubs?
The underside of a vehicle is the worst aerodynamic area.

Are you able to provide additional information that is more specific? cuphead

Design a diffuser in the back like a Ford GT and others. It's basically an upside down wing to pull down at speed and the diffuser part also helps to keep it straight at speed.

More likely their will be a vacuum under them, but that won't offset the vacuum pulling up on the pickup bed.chevy art wrote: ↑Thu Feb 10, 2022 2:02 pm anyone ever hear of a stepside pickup truck getting air under the rear fenders at high speed and causing the truck to loose a little stability in the rear. my buddy is building one that wii go a maximum of about 125 mph and he says he needs to puts lots of louvers in the rear fenders to bleed off the air getting under the fenders that is causing the truck to get a little out of shape at the top end. is this true and is the louvers the solution. thanks Art in NY
