has anyone tried stiff sidewall slicks back to back with regular sidewall on a car with lots of power ? Something maybe in the 9's or faster ? Does the stiff wall tires just spin easier because it doesn't cushion the hit ?

Since no one responded, thought I'd throw this out.
A customer runs a 9.90 roadster with a 900 hp BBC. He went to stiff sidewall slicks (don't recall the number) from 1984 Goodyears. Slowed the car down about a tenth but improved reaction times, which was what he was aiming for.

it slowed the car down because his 60 foot got worse ? Thanks for the reply, I'm trying to improve my 60 foot so based on your info sounds like i should avoid the stiff sidewall tires.

Not sure where the loss occured. Pretty sure it didn't loop the tires off the line. The stiffer sidewall tires are normally quite a bit heavier. Affects static weight and rotational mass during acceleration. This could cause a change in ET
