The goal is to get the engine broken in and running, in the car and be able to successfully complete a drag week without a breakdown or incident... How is the cam too short for that?

If I remember correctly I think they're comps 'low shock' lobes, I don't think they're in the catalogue?

The cam is fine. F-bird likes to fantasize spending OPM.
Except for this.
54chevkiwi wrote: Sat May 06, 2023 6:12 pm As a refresher, there are pics of flow numbers and the cam specs. Cam was degreed to intake valve open and the ICL fell on 110
I agree with KE on this.
KnightEngines wrote: Sun May 07, 2023 9:19 pm ICL is too far retarded!
Wind it forward at least 4 degrees.
If it is not too difficult to change,106 ICL might be better for street driving. Look for the equal lift point to be 2 to 4 degrees BTDC. If you can move the cam while it is on the dyno that would be interesting to know the outcome.

Yea, you know, I think I will try shifting the cam, I'm curious myself

With that short cam, and 11.3:1 compression, I don't think it will get close to 700hp on an accurate dyno.
More like 680hp@6,800rpm

I'll bet this one is not so "short", isn't it. 8)

Heck I'd still be stoked with that! I mean, it's the second engine I've done for a car I still haven't driven.. I'm sure everyone knows that song.. at least at that power level I wouldn't have to replace a brand new never driven on transmission too lol.

On that note, you spec'd me 274/280@.050 .790/.728 110
What would the power and revs of that look like?

And what's your current timeframe for cam orders..?

740-750hp at 7,500-7,600rpm

That's a man cam!
Love it, & I bet that'd drive just fine too.

I put a 278/284 on 109 centres in a 355 cube Holden a while back, he street drives it a bit.

Not yet. Beyea are making me some dyno headers to burns specs, they billed me Wednesday so they should be with me any time, hopefully next week. Dyno guy said it'll be best to test it with the same type of exhaust setup that I'll be running in the car, so, I'm just waiting on that to arrive from beyea...

I have a few exhaust configurations I'd like to test
