Sorry I was working on another engine
Thank you for camKing contact.

For now we are about to ream (We were to sleeve but the machinist prefer to ream over)
We'll have to go to 4.060" but Summit Racing has such a large choice.
What should I choose. What filters should I select?
I am waiting from machinist the stroke, conrod length and compression height, this should help to narrow down the choice.

There are many piston options. I would select a piston with 2 valve reliefs, a compression distance that is 1.560" (assuming a 3.48" stroke/5.7" rod), a 1/16" or 1.5mm ring pack. With those pistons, those 70's era heads are going to limit compression to about 8.6 to 1 but could be up 9 to 1 if the block gets surfaced.

041 heads have 64 cc chambers, putting compression in the 9+ range
So much to do, so little time...

I measured some parts on the engine.

I understood that the original engine should have been, as out of the factory in 1970 (measured parts) :
Rod Length 5.700 (6.000)
Compression Height 1.565 (1.270)
Deck Height 9.025 (not measured)
Stroke 3.48 (3.700 but not accurately measured)
Quench .061 (not measured but 6.000+1.270+(3.480/2)=9.120 so .095 ABOVE A 9.025 deck , more than head gasket !?))
Deck Clearance .020 (not measured but -.095 per above, ABOVE deck !?)

What can we say from here?
I say engine is stroked.
I am puzzled by the estimated Quench found on the engine!?
Camshaft is a Comp Cam 305H that will need to be replaced (worn out lobe)
