epoxy to repair damaged jet tower on motorcycle carbs
Corrosion has damaged the jet tower on my Honda CB550 carbs to where the gas leaks by the o-ring on the jet. Is there a modified epoxy that I could use to repair that and machine it down that will hold up to gas?

If you did use a epoxy what wall thickness would be left after machining?

I have not personally used this but a buddy fixed my brother's old prostock bike carbs with this. It's been working fine.

Generally speaking ......
It's the alcohol constituent of 'gas', if present, that tends to attack the various epoxies, so just be aware of that
And you can't really 'barrier' coat it, as you might say in an intake port, to protect it in a carb as it's continually immersed in the fuel

I have used JB Weld and PC7 in the past with good results.
Both are strong and machinable post cure and from what I have witnessed
pretty much unaffected by fuel / alchohol.

LORD 305 epoxy by Parker will work well in that situation.wwmtlineman wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2024 3:41 pm Corrosion has damaged the jet tower on my Honda CB550 carbs to where the gas leaks by the o-ring on the jet.
