Is there a particular angle you work towards for carb pad to plenum EG - 12 - 15 degrees?
Lots of work taking out clover leaf by hand for sure
Thanks for sharing.
As you can see in the first pic, due to core shift, the carb pad is offset from the runners. In my experience, this is common on the 2970/2971 manifolds. On the sides, angle is a compromise to maintain runner length on the inner runners. Front and rear is pulled as far as casting permits.
mt-engines wrote: Fri Apr 12, 2024 8:15 pm Cool.. when will you have some results?
When I'm at liberty to share, I certainly will. As I mentioned earlier, Ron Winterhoff, of Ron's Porting Service, is familiar with my port work. To share a quote from Ron... "Great work, enjoy looking at your work, and I know by who you're working for that it makes HP."
WeingartnerRacing wrote: Fri Apr 12, 2024 9:38 pm Wonder why they didn’t have me port the manifold.
I never asked. I assumed it was due to your workload or time constraints. You're always welcome to send work to me if you're overloaded.

Showing off my edelbrock 2828 converted to efi

I accidentally got some oven cleaner in the plenum so it’s looking dark but it’s got large radius at the plenum and large bell mouth

Ah geez I can’t link anymore from my phone for some reason. They just keep showing up as black images. Anyways it’s got the cloverleaf removed and has a 5” csa bell mouth to a 3ish” csa gasket

Pardon my ignorance but does the “E” signify speed master foundry?

Exactly.

I'm guessing because some guy in a garage that bounces a burr around an intake, and started a thread to learn how to do this is better than you.

Thank you, kind sir. I appreciate the vote of confidence. When you’re ready to send out a manifold, let me know.

They both look almost identical except for the bigger runners. Are you porting the "E" intake Scott?

In a Camaro that never went quicker than 10.00 in the 1/4, it ran a 9.92 @ 137 after manifold swap with the same tune. It replaced an older, port matched, Victor Jr.
