Double hump rocker stud

Post by RCJ »

I'm taking a set of double humps to the machine shop. The rocker studs are screw in with out the nut flange to hold the guide plate. Guide plates are not a requirement for this build. Is there any reason to remove these stud and machine for the nut rocker studs.

If the pushrod guide slots are not worn and the installation was done on a cylinder head machine or milling machine so the threads are tapped accurately, such that the studs are in line with each other and on the blueprint spec for the angle it should be no problem.

How long have they been running trouble-free already?

If the cam has a lot of lift double check the pushrod slots with the cam and rockers used to be sure there is no interference or binding.
