We did a convertor swap in this a couple months ago, this was worth just over 2 tenths on the 1/8th best et now 6.127 , havnt run 1/4 mile with this convertor as yet but will soon enough.
He got another runner up last weekend so is happy.
Next year im keen to do an engine strip/check and some new pipes as the current pipes are still from the old 302 combo and to say they have a poor port match would be an understatement !

The old convertor was 10" and had 5200 static stall.
New convertor is an 8" with 5800 static stall.
The old convertor felt very tight up to its stall speed and was not very reactive. Would suit a 3 speed trans better(this car runs a Powerglide).
New convertor is far more reactive. The 2 tenths better ET is evident across the 60' area and is maintained throughout the entire run.
Im sure Mat would have GoPro footage of flash rpm on the old convertor and hopefully next meeting the GoPro is refitted so we can see exactly what the new one does flash to.
