? about sbc crower lifters with raised pushrod cups

Post by racin69z »

Has anyone ever used the crower sbc lifters with the raised aluminum pushrod cups without a rev kit. I think they are made to be used with a rev kit, but can they be used without?

I was thinking using the lifters with the raised cup would help stiffen the pushrod.

Does anyone know of any disadvantages this creates?

Thanks

I haven't used the crower's, but Isky makes a RedZone lifter that is the same. I would never use the revkit springs but the lifters are great for shortening up the pushrods on certain applications. I've done it with no problems so I'd recommend it.

I have the Isky's in a Modified that the guy took the rev kit out of & he has been running them that way for 3 or 4 seasons now.
Hasn't had any issues at all.

I try to use nothing but that style Crower lifter if budget allows. Never had a problem with them, love the offset and the shorter pushrod.
