Lloyd Riley passed away

Post by MotionMachine »

With great sadness I bring the news of Lloyd's passing. His handle was Donc on here. A wealth of knowledge, excellent machinist/builder, and maker of the best stone holders on the planet. I will post the obit when it appears.

RIP Lloyd (donc). Only knew him through SpeedTalk but was glad I had a chance to make his acquaintance. Had him make a stone holder on a Kwik Way holder. Exchanged a few PMs in the process and I always would have liked to meet him in person.

Anyone taking up his design and making stone holders to his specs?

I guess I waited too long to buy a couple.

Ive been friends with Lloyd for 30+ years. He was also a great teacher of our trade. I used to hire him to assist in the training of new employees on the sunnen equipment especially. He really enjoyed passing on the skills to the next generation. He was one of my favorite people. Calling hours will be this thursday 4-7pm at Lillis funeral home in his home town of New Milford CT.

I'm going to miss Lloyd. He was a great friend and mentor. Taught me alot about this industry and was always trying to lead me in the right direction. Going to miss those phone calls from him - God Speed Lloyd!

Lloyd was my brother, and one of the best brothers anyone can ask for. He always looked out and worried about his baby sister. Loaned me money for my 1st car when I was 16. A 1968 Camaro with a 327 V8 engine. He was all tough on the outside but very caring, giving , loving guy. RIP I will miss you always.
