My truck weighs 3970 race ready,
I thought it would be heavier than that. Have you lightened it any?
[/quote]

It has light rims, tires, and engine, trans, but it has serious weight in the front brake rotors, rear brake drums, and a ridiculous 2 piece drive shaft it takes a crane to lift. I haven't gone around drilling holes, or stuff like that. Ultimately it needs to be shortened, then a carbon fibre driveshaft, and then Lamb front brakes, then we have a 10 sec shop truck, BUT I'm content how it is, after all I only have three passes on it, I'm sure I can find a little more. I really like driving it around town, fortunate to be able to do this stuff!

From the runs I've made I feel comfortable figuring 11.50.

Cut that end bit off. I'm not a leafspring expert but when I looked into them, pretty sure for drag-race you clamp the front and leave/remove the rear for it to expand to help with traction.

edit: For the street then clamp the rear, easy enough to remove at/before the track.
I will post pictures of what I plan to do.

After a little research they weren't as heavy as I thought they were. For some reason I was thinking full sized pickups were heavier than that.

Congratulations Mark it’s a great project you’ve got going and thanks for sharing the results with us. What converter and stall speed do you run in the truck ?

I think one day, I'm going to have to try out one of those ATI converters.

ATI changed the shell/case design on their converters, no good any more, don't waste your money. You might want to look at my transmission. I use Len Schneider or Kenny for converters, and have since Jim Beattie of ATI died, his kids took over, and like always, its not the same company.

That’s very interesting. What has changed to the worse with their 8” converters ?

i had 1 #291 casting i Ported to duplicate how i Ported Mark's #291's
to make sure Mark's Heads had plenty of metal left for Street/Strip use,
so i went from 2.055/1.600 Valve Combo to 2.080 Intake Valve + more Port work
then i took it the 2.080 Porting all the way to breaking thru into Water Jacket bridge between Intake and Exhaust Valves
to be bery sure there was plenty metal there for Mark's 2.055 Port Job
here are Intake Bowl Templates :

Nice work, showing 514 HP in a 29.52 Baro, not bad. Your porting was well spent money!
