Ring set

Post by cgarb »

Looking for a brand and part number for a moly top ring, a Napier 2nd ring and low tension oil rings. 4.030 bore 1/16 1/16 3/16. File fit is preferred. I have looked a bunch of places online and can find sets with Napier 2nd rings with Standard tension oil rings and can find low tension sets with barrel faced 2nd rings but not both together. Is there a reason why both are not used together?

Call Total Seal, if they don’t have the set you want they’ll put together a set for you, with whatever tension oil ring set you desire. Cheap too.

Low tension 3/16" oil ring assemblies are not very common. In most cases a 1/16"; 1/16"; 3/16" ring package will work better with standard tension oil ring assembly.
Ductile iron, barrel faced, plasma moly top ring; grey iron Napier second ring; three-piece oil assembly with flex-vent style expander and chrome-faced rails.
