In the U.S.A. there are very few companies willing to be innovative.
I have witnessed many companies manufacturing an inferior part simply because they make more money from it than if they manufactured the better part.
Innovation is all but gone, unless they can get a guaranty on profit.

Is that a sustainable business model - manufacturing inferior parts? Short-term gain - sure, but long-term?

Ask the stockholders ... all they seem to care about is the money; right now.

I'd have a problem being the CEO of a listed company due to the short attention span of bourse shareholders. Decisions about capital projects would be skewed.

Im glad I'm old and not just starting out. I pity my grandkids, even my daughter and son-in-law who are 45.

Still lots of investment decisions ahead for 45 year olds.

I wonder if private equity has longer time lines.
