My opinion, those radius entries should be smoothed and not removed. And if they are not using my 3 bar type nitrous plate I did 30 years ago, they are wasting your time ;)
It'll be a single bar NX plate. I thought I was being conservative. :-k I could have been more aggressive like Eric.

The Profiler/Wilson is really good if you port it.

Friend just placed a ported Holley / Dorton on his SS SBC w/ Q-Jet. O2 readings immediately went to the 15.0:1 range and he couldn’t put enough jet in it to bring the O2 down. Put his SV back on and was .15 faster and normal O2 readings.
He’s been told by a known cylinder head guy that the Dorton needs to go on CraigsList and get an Edelbrock SV II.
Maybe the Dorton works great with a Holley over a Q-Jet?
Do you have an opinion on this?
Thanks.

I'm confused, that'd be needles to enrichen the Q-jet wouldn't it ?

Years ago testing a Q-jet We also were super lean and took a set of sec rods out of a 301 Turbo T/A Q-jet. That got it pretty close in the A/F dept. but at the track that carb never performed right until we swapped intakes also. Took off the "new" at the time Vic Jr. and went back to the old TM-1 SBC. I have the S/V 2 now and want to test it over my 300-25 to see what the difference is also

The SV II experiment was unfortunately at a National event so that doesn’t help. But with a Q-Jet .031” rod it had 1500° range exhaust temps and he was convinced a larger jet wouldn’t fix that. So he went back to his SV intake and all was good.

This is the 4811 with the clover leaf removed. It will be run on a 13.5:1 421 SBC with AFR 220 Eliminator heads, an IRD 1050 carb, and a 300hp NX plate...
