Just a quick update on the AFB problems as I've just got it solved. It was indeed a problem with the MABs. I made a 4" long "poker' that would just fit down the bleeds by sandpapering down a piece of steel wire (drills aren't long enough). I kept working them in and out and a very small amount of dirt could be wiped off the wire initially. I really wasn't expecting success but it worked. Just goes to show how critical these bleeds are.

It's great to hear when someone sticks with it like you have to resolve a problem, congrats on that !

For future reference for you or someone else who might need to go thru this just note ( no pun intended) that guitar strings that are made of steel come in sizes from .008" up to .048" or so .

They are plenty long and will save you all that sanding work.

I did actually try guitar strings but none of them were quite the right size to be effective.
