I am curious as to what all you are going to have to do for distributor figment. I dealt with short deck intakes on tall decks for years. It was always a pain. Being a short deck on a short deck if it will be any more “wonky “ than a short deck on a tall deck with spacers.

Machine the lug off the distributor body & use a clamp on one.

Makes sense. We often had to clearance the manifold as the distributor would press hard against the casting as it was leaning inward. I am sure you already have it planned out. Was curious if you were making the distributor a slip collar, or doing some magic with the manifold to run a standard distributor. I did that once, what a pain.

She'll be running a crank trigger, so the plan is to use a stock small cap distributor, lock it, machine the collar etc.

Getting proper fed up with grinding on this thing, between heads & intake I've done 22hrs on the grinder in the last 2 days.
Got one bank finished, about 30% of the way through the 2nd bank.
Just soooo much metal to chop out & I can't go too hard coz the runners are thin on the roof.

Finally finished hacking on the intake & cut out all the casting blocking the oil drainback areas in the heads.
Did 1 last dummy up to check how everything sits - pretty happy, bit of work but it's come out nice enough to justify the time.
Final finished the seats, milled .040" to 115cc, set up valve tip heights & washed it all up.
Still waiting on springs - Isky 9988RAD.

I didn't get fussy with surface finish on porting - the owner is a good friend, he don't care what it looks like as long as it's fast lol.

Hiya, nice short side width on those radius, ya might want to re-think those cam specs... noticed the nice tulip exhaust valves. Would you be willing for a cam change on the dyno. I'll check with my guys and see if I can get you one in time. I'm thinking .450"in .430"ex lobe 1.7 rocker and springs to match, Great project to do a compare :)

edit, you might want a spacer on that plenum. Not at the carbs but a full couple inches for the entire plenum. You have made a pretty bad ass intake out of that garbage, hehe.

We'll stick with the cam for now - it's easy on the valve train, we run it with 1.8/1.7 rockers, .730" intake lift.
It did a fair bit of work without killing the cheap ass Pac springs it had (they were all I could get that'd fit in the old eddy heads without longer valves).
Lifters came out mint too.
Yeah, more lift would be nice, but being easy on the valve train is more a priority for now!
That may change if/when they get to the point where the boat can use everything its got, maybe at freshen time.

I do reckon it'll want a plenum spacer, was thinking that the moment I bolted the top plate on!
I'll have to chase one up, I may know a guy that has a couple.

Got the 4 bolt conversion done, howards caps.
I wanted splayed outers, but couldn't get them.

After delays due to my chronic work load, parts availability etc I finally got this just about done.
Just waiting on material for a plenum spacer & fuel line kit for carbs.
