How much data do you have on the combo unported vs ported? How do you know if you are wasting your time or not? And whats with the 400 pictures without any results? How do you know the manifold needed that much work?
I see nothing wrong with what Chopper does showing off his intake work, hell it looks better than mine does. As for performance, most intakes out of the box are worth a darn, the 2925 Eddy is a prime example of that. I say just run'em after you port them and see what happens. It's not like were racing a P/S class or anything like that.
I was just asking what the results are. And why it needed so much work stock vs ported?

Yesterday we tested a torker vs Chinese Air gap on a 355. The Chinese airgap was worth 40hp. Now what if I spent 15 hours porting the torker and it gained 30.. you'd say that was a heck of a gain.. but an out of the box chinese intake still blows it out of the water untouched.
Any intake would be better than the 5001 sbc Torker same goes for the BBC Torker 2. The old Torker's were a ton better then those newer ones for sure. An auto parts store in the 80's would sell the sbc 5001 Torker (before they were called that) for $50 when they 1st came out and sold a ton of them. Dang those guys were easy to beat with a simple Performer dual plane intake back then. I am surprised you only made 40hp over the Torker but that's how bad that intake really is.

Thats what i told the owner. This was an under 400hp engine. But he believed a guy much older that it was the hot ticket for the street. Thumper cam and some 305ho heads. He was also told the 305ho heads will make more power over some procomp heads he bought from the same guy. Because the 305 heads have a smaller chamber.... ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

I will take a better flowing head over a small chamber slightly higher compression head any day of the week.

Lol in my defense my ported Torker ll is going to get bolted to a pair of ported Floteks. I also have an '01 Camaro with 243s that I ported with a stock LS6 intake and it does well for itself. I understand the Torker ll is a pile but it was $60 off Ebay and I also got a Performer for $50 off Ebay a while back, so I got stuff to port and experiment on. I bought a set of 862 truck heads to practice on before I went with the 243s that are on my Camaro now. I'm trying to learn from this old discarded stuff. Here are some pics

After sitting on the back burner for awhile, the Holley 300-110 is ready for competition.

This was hand detailed with 150 grit before a final burr finish...

Scott, it is gonna be darn hard to beat that Holley manifold for peak power . That has been established .

First off let me say that i am talking about a single 4 barrel as cast manifold. I know that there are some newer castings that are a little bit better. If you look at test results from many sources it can be seen that the Holley manifold has been near the top. I did not state that this manifold ( could not ) be beaten, I simply said that it would be hard to beat . Mark H.
