The DV modified carb will flow the needed cfm for 318 HP. As I said above seeing 5.5- 6" Hg @ WOT peak HP RPM which is 74.77-81.57" of water.
Does anyone know what kind of HP is be made from a Holley 500 CFM which is rated at 3" Hg / 40.785" of water?

a gauge legal Holley 4412 500cfm has a hard time beyond about 470 hp, the 7448 350cfm is done at 415 hp

Assumed to be on a 350 no doubt, was the 350 gauge legal.
415 from a 350, I'm betting that'd have to be a 500 + HP engine with an appropriate size carby fitted.
I checked with someone who plays circle track 500 2bbl dyno games on a fairly regular basis and he has recently done on a 500 for a "dirt late model open 18 deg. head roller cam 630+ HP with a 4bbl" and it made 490 with the 500 4412.
Evidently there is now an 89 throttle body manifold and various adaptors now in the mix; one of which adapts the holley 500 and one to adapt a stromberg that is similar to the large base bbd. By stacking adaptors they can also mount the smaller bbd to the manifold. If I was the guy that had all of that work in the single plane, resisting the impulse to punch who ever had this latest idea would have been difficult. If the original intent was to prove 318 hp with the small base carb it seems to potentially be off course; sailing around the horn with the sails at half-mast appears to be the UTG way though. This is stretching my computer skills so can't figure out how to do a link.
We used to have a class on pavement roundy round. It used 500 cfm carb on 10 to 1 360 inch max.You could run factory heads or dart 2 stuff with no porting and same on intakes. The Vic Jr was pretty much the choice then. This had the spacers that allow you to move carb forward or back.455-470 hp was very common. You had to have 500 plus to be on the podium. The guy we helped was several time winner/champion of class and 522 hp was best I saw. There was no roller cams in these classes either. You had to get creative. And spending time on Dyno and getting to try allot of things it was evident that a 500 cfm carb is way more capable of moving more air through it than that.
I wonder if the throttle opens any further than it is in the picture. I have seen a few old Stromberg carbs that hit the WOT stop at about that angle, don't know why but perhaps for A/F distribution correction in the specific application for which the carb was intended.

Interesting, you'd expect Charles would have been onto that, but we're all Human and he was excited about the manifold, re distracted.
Ignorance leads to confidence more often than knowledge does.
Nah, I'm not leaving myself out of the ignorant brigade....at times.

Looking from the top view in the vid they are fully open. Probably the best he could do with one hand.
I’m a Street/Strip guy..... like to think outside the quadrilateral parallelogram.

I don't think agree. Look at 0:08 and from 0:20 to about 0:35. The throttle plates are obviously at an angle similar to seen in the upside down view. However, although it is not clear, at 2:03 they appear to be vertical.
I think this is where a lot of us older guys started, buy 2 barrel V8 and start optimising it. Man when you put the first 4 barrel on it, wowee.
Uncle Tony isn't watchable. He's kind of hack that hasn't kept up with the times. He makes stupid videos as cheap as possible to come up with "content". It's about the YouTube content. That's what this is. It amazes me anyone cares. Funny, I could make a video highlighting the 15 degree 440 inch sbc, or 698 inch spread port BBC, or 900hp pump gas 555, or one of the other 20 engines I have in the works, and more people would follow this stupid waste of time. Unreal.
I completely understand. I don’t get either. Here I am spending 8k to build this dyno mule to test things people actually want to know and I get 3k views. Others spend no money give no real useful information and get 45k views.
Each dyno session is 1k if I’m lucky at the end of the year I make $500 from the video. I wouldn’t say my content is greatest by any means but at least people can get something useful out of it. Many times a day I think I don’t think this world should work this way or I’m on the wrong planet.
Ps I tested a two barrel on my mule on 4 of the manifolds it made about 1.2. I only did it because circle track has to run 2barrel. That was interesting because the best on 2barrel wasn’t on a 4barrel.
For what it is worth I watch your Youtube videos, good job. I don't understand how it works but the algorithm that pops videos on my TV is skewed, to bring up stuff like Uncle Tony's. One of your videos will pop up every now and then, but the stupid Uncle Tony's stuff pops up every time I watch the TV. Yes, I can go into search and find whatever I want, but I am just lazy sometimes. If you want more views figure out why they put your videos on the bottom of the algorithm list. I have other interests like sailing, and it is the same shit.
