For true. Same but different, when I was building SBFs, I was very skeptical of the 347" being durable. Now, any kid with a checkbook can build more SBF power with a 347" than any 289"/302" we/Shelby/Roush ever dreamed of.
Scott Main built a Ford 410 inch engine with an 8.2" deck block for the Engine Masters contest about 18 years ago.

We marveled at that build, but Scott had to admit the cylinder walls were paper thin. even he said it was a dyno queen only.

Well, just go a bit smaller than a 4.250" bore on that siamesed Dart block; the engine will still be plenty big. LOL

Walter did you use a custom connecting rod for the bbc build?
If not and you don’t mind what did you use?
