The Dusenberg 4-valve OHC cylinder head combustion chamber looks very much like a DFX Cosworth.

Great article - and a mercury crank damper inside the crankcase!

Year late and a dollar short, but I never knew the Dusenberg used quarter-speed cams. Now we know where Bus Schaller got his inspiration.

If you are referring to the drawing of the Dusenberg head, look closer, the lobes are described as for cylinders 180 cam degrees, 360 crank degrees, from each other.

I think that Jack is correct insofar as sighting along the shaft would superimpose the cam lobes and provide an inspiration to a receptive mind. Bus would have known how to achieve it.

The included angle was a lot narrower on the DFV/DFX
