Me thinks that CP80LT is a LEFT Turn CircleTrack pan. Great for CT but not good for other uses. It is 8" deep.
If you're Not circletrack racing, suggest one of Champs more shallow Road Race pans.

I am actually considering a CP80LT-RR or CP100LT-RR. Both are road racing pans

I'd choose the more shallow CP1000LT-RR --- if it fit the chassis
Suggest You call Champ and tell them exactly what you have and go with their guidance.

Depends on your use and required ground clearance, sumps with kicked out bases for left right cars should only be considered for low ground clearance wet sump engines. Kick outs at the pan rail do more to add horsepower and deep narrow sumps keep the pickup covered with oil.SlowMalibu wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 6:01 pm How effective in oil control to prevent engine damage is SBC Z28 style main stud mounted tray with a matching pan vs a dedicated aftermarket pan like Champ CP80LT ?

I think there are better windage trays out there than a 100 year old design.
