holley 3310 chokeless body recommendations

Post by als427 »

Looking to convert my holley 4150 3310 to a chokeless body version ( for lower air cleaner / hood clearance). Have contacted summit holley and not getting much help. any recommendations for a replacement body with vacuum secondaries.? also , is anyone using one and can tell me the height from the top of the air vents to the flange where the air cleaner base sits - want too see how much lower than the choke tower version. Thanks all
What the ^%$£ happened to useful tech phone lines. Cant believe the manufacturers cant provide some of this basic info. Do they not know the measurements of their own products?

probably no aftermarket chokeless main body for vacuum sec carbs, the air cleaner flange is 3.25" high-add 1/2" to 3/4" for vent tube

Just did one using this main body. I would recommend it. I have no data other than my friend likes the way it drives and performs in his car. I used the original 3310 settings. You can’t go wrong for a starting point.

U cut the vent tubes shorter and at a angle.
Yes the air bleed sizes of our donor carb body are your start point to tune the new body. You will need to customize your throttle cable mount bracket as the air cleaner base is lower..

Why have you not mock up - assembled it to see if its going to fit underhood before you buy that carb body?

Holley 82750SA is 750 HP vac. secondary.

Which ever carb body you use, for the secondary to operate correctly you will need to install the signal booster nipple in the primary bore. Without that nipple the secondary opening will be lazy, late and will not open 100%.

X2 for Tuner's trick of adding the secondary booster nipple. It is a game changer that narrows the commonly felt performance gap between a double pumper and a vacuum secondary holley. But if I am remembering right I think that 750 proform vacuum secondary main body does have the nipple installed.

This little 1/8" diameter slash cut nipple must be in the carb for the secondary to function properly. I know I put a description of the installation procedure and pictures in this forum several years ago. Try the search function.
